All name and address information of the customers was stored
in COSMOSS, mainframe based system, which does not allow users
to easily enter and maintain this data. The CMS is developed to
take over name server functionality of COSMOSS, hence removing
COSMOSS from the CFB architecture. Also it supports product ordering
creation and maintenance of Sales Accounts, Customers and accounts.
The customer identification is done by CAPSCAN, a third party
software. The CMS contacts the core CFB system in the mainframe
using CICS gateway for complex operations such as getting Bill
Package and its details for the account, CAPSCAN address match,
Delaying and cancelling the delay of the bill run, etc.
I was involved in designing, coding of CAPSCAN interacting
with mainframe, Customer & Account using servlet, JSP & EJB and
maintenance of CMS during production.
